GENERAL CAATINGA! STUDIO POLICIES:

 

ART CAN BE MESSY!

Please ensure that your child wears clothing to CAATINGA! studio that can get messy!

SAFETY AND BEHAVIOR

A caring positive approach will be taken regarding behavioral issues. 


The staff of CAATINGA! studio reserves the right to dismiss a child from class, but first will try everything possible to correct the behavior before doing so.

 

If the behavior issue continues:

Step 1. Verbal communication with the parent or guardian will take place.

Step 2. A formal email will be sent about the situation. 

Step 3. Possibility of the child being released from CAATINGA! studio.

 

When serious disciplinary challenges occur automatic dismissal from the program may result, such as but not limited to; inability to stay with the group or participate, hitting and or biting.


*CAATINGA! studio is suitable for: children who are able to consistently work well in small groups and independently as well as being able to follow multi-step directions. CAATINGA! studio is not suitable for children who need 1:1 ratio, as we are unable to realistically provide the staff for a ratio this small.

No refunds will be given for missed classes.

PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE

Photos and videos of children may be taken during CAATINGA! studio and used for promotional, marketing and social media.

 

Please contact us in advance if you DO NOT want photos of your child taken and used for promotional, marketing and social media.

STAY UPDATED

By providing your email address, you agree to be added onto CAATINGA! studio's email list.

LIABILITY RELEASE

CAATINGA! studio is run by trained staff with backgrounds in art and education. All reasonable attempts will be made to ensure your child’s safety. To the extent permitted by applicable law, I hearby release CAATINGA! LLC, it’s successors, assigns, employees, contractors, members, volunteers and facility location from any and all liability arising from CAATINGA!, except in the case of intentional misconduct or gross negligence. I also understand that CAATINGA! LLC, is exempt from licensing by the State of Georgia/Bright From the Start.

COVID-19

Due to ongoing changes and updates with COVID-19, CAATINGA! studio may at anytime make changes to their policies and procedures. Families may not attend if they share a home (including siblings) or have been in close contact with anyone who recently tested positive for COVID-19 or thinks they have COVID-19.


In compliance with the CDC, masking is now optional at CAATINGA! studio. Please send your child with additional masks if they will be wearing them while at CAATINGA! studio.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

To ensure the health and safety of our staff and other children attending, we ask that you do not send your child to class if they have or have had a fever in the past 24 hours.

​

 

CAATINGA! STUDIO CLASSES AND CAMP POLICIES:

​

NO EARLY DROP OFF OR LATE PICKUP

Late fees are $5.00, plus $1.00 for every minute after your child's scheduled pick up time. Any expenses accrued will result in an invoice being sent to your email on the day of late pick-up. Excessive early drop off's and late pick-ups may result in dismissal of the program.

​

SNACK/WATER BOTTLE

Please send your child with their own labeled water bottle and snack to have while at CAATINGA! studio. If your child is coming for a camp, please send them with a labeled lunch and towel to sit on. Refrigeration will not be available for snacks or lunches. (Occasionally we will provide a special snack. It is important to know of any food allergies your child may have.)

CAATINGA! STUDIO IS NUT FREE

Please DO NOT send any lunches or snacks containing: peanut butter, peanuts, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios or any other nuts.

​

AGE

Children must be at least 5 years old at the start of classes and camps. (The only exception is with our Toddler PlayGroup and Private Parties.)

​

TRANSPORTATION

CAATINGA! studio staff will provide walking transportation from Oakhurst Elementary to CAATINGA! studio for after school art class. (Oakhurst pick-up must be selected at the same time as class registration.)

​

New for the 2023-2024 School Year, CAATINGA!studio staff will also be providing walking transportation from FAVE to CAATINGA!studio. (Walking transportation from FAVE is currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. FAVE pick-up must be selected at the same time as class registration)

​

REFUNDS

No refunds will be given for any missed or unused days during any camps, workshops, or art classes.

​

WEATHER 

Classes, Camps and Workshops follow the City Schools of Decatur school closure policies for weather emergencies.

​

AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASSES:

PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • Your first month's tuition is required at the time of enrollment and is non-refundable. 

  • Tuition is due monthly, by automatic payment on the 25th of the prior month. (Example: September tuition is due on August 25th) 

  • After registering, we will send you a link to our Parent Portal where you will input your information for automatic payments. 

  • We will pro-rate your first month's tuition if you join in the middle of the month. Just send us an email. 

  • Tuition is not based on the number of classes per month and remains the same every month. 

 

REFUNDS

No refunds will be given for any missed or unused days during any camps, workshops, or after school art classes.

SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS 

Parents/Guardians must select and commit to a weekly/monthly schedule for their child to attend CAATINGA!studio at the time of registration. Once registered for these days, the schedule is fixed. CAATINGA!studio understands that schedules can change and allows 3 schedule change adjustments during the school year. Adjustments must be made by email 4 weeks before the change and may not be guaranteed, based on availability. A $25 Administration Fee will be added for each schedule change.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

To withdrawal a child from CAATINGA!studio's after school art classes, a 30-day written notice before the planned withdrawal is required through email. Notices received after the 25th may incur tuition fees for the following month. 

​

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Full payment is due at the time of registration, which includes a $40 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee for your class. Cancellations made 14 days prior to the first day of class are eligible to receive a class credit to be used at a later date, minus the registration fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the class start date are non-refundable.

(If the minimum number of participants is not met 5 days prior to the first class date, the class will be canceled and refunds will be made accordingly.) 

​

WORKSHOPS

Full payment is due at the time of registration, which includes a $30 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee for your workshop. Cancellations made 14 days prior to the first day of class are eligible to receive a class credit to be used at a later date, minus the registration fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the class start date are non-refundable.

(If the minimum number of participants is not met 5 days prior to the workshop date, the workshop will be canceled and refunds will be made accordingly.) 

​

CAMPS

Full payment is due at the time of registration, which includes a $55 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee for your camp. Cancellations made 14 days prior to the first day of camp are eligible to receive a camp credit to be used at a later date, minus the registration fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the camp start date are non-refundable.

(If the minimum number of participants is not met 5 days prior to the camp start date, the workshop will be canceled and refunds will be made accordingly.) 

​

PARENTS NIGHT OUT

Full payment is due at the time of registration, which includes a $15 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee. Cancellations made 14 days prior to the workshop date are eligible to receive a credit to be used at a later date, minus the deposit. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the workshop date are non-refundable.

(If the minimum number of participants is not met 5 days prior to the camp start date, the workshop will be canceled and refunds will be made accordingly.) 

​

 

TODDLER PLAYGROUP POLICIES:

AGE

Toddler PlayGroup is for toddlers walking - 3 years old.

​

CHILD + ADULT EXPERIENCE

We encourage toddlers to explore and investigate during Toddler PlayGroup. Please stay with your child during class to support them during their experience.

​

 

PARTY POLICIES:

PARTY BOOKING

Full payment is due at the time of booking your party, which includes a $360 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, in order to reserve your date and time. Any additional expenses incurred, due to additional guests or party upgrades, will be due no later than 7 days before your party. Non-payment will result in cancelation of your party.

 

FINAL HEADCOUNT

We require a final headcount of children attending, NO LATER THAN 10 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PARTY.  Additional children will not be able to be added on less than 10 days before your party. 

​

ARRIVAL TIME

Party family may arrive up to 30 minutes prior to the party start time, to set up.

​

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CHILDREN

CAATINGA! studio can comfortably fit up to 15 children for parties.

​

INCLEMENT WEATHER

During the event of inclement weather, any parties planned for CAATINGA! studio's outdoor area will be moved to our indoor studio space.

 

GRATUITY

Our party hosts work hard to make sure your event is one that you and your guests will never forget! Gratuity is always welcomed and appreciated.

​

PARTY TIMELINE

Parties at CAATINGA! are a 1.5 hour event: CAATINGA! studio staff will guide the planned project with your guests for approximately the first 45 minutes. The second 45 minutes of the party is for the party family to host. Children can play, eat, open presents, etc..

 

DROP OFF

Children ages 5+ may be dropped off at CAATINGA! studio parties, but we request that the party family provides adequate supervision for all children attending. (We recommend at least 3-4 adults for 15 children.)
